Feis Rois Ceilidh Trail comes to Cromarty!

Fèis Rois is preparing once again for its highly popular Summer Ceilidh Trail but this year there is a difference! Now in its eleventh year Fèis Rois has planned not one but two Ceilidh Trails! The project designed to develop young Fèis musicians’ performance skills whilst creating a vibrant traditional music programme for varied audiences around Scotland will this year also take to Ireland, England and Wales.

Former Ceilidh Trail musician and this year’s co-ordinator, Kirsty-Anne Macfarlane said “The Ceilidh Trail is such an amazing opportunity for young people to experience what it is like to be a professional touring musician. Not only do they have a chance to work with those professional musicians who inspire them, the participants gain more confidence both in their playing and in their presentation on stage. In taking to Ireland and Wales we hope to create a link between young traditional musicians in Scotland and these other countries. The participants will get the opportunity to promote traditional Scottish music and the language which was once the only language spoken in Ross-shire, Gaelic.” said Kirsty-Anne.

One of the Ceilidh Trails will tour Ross-shire and arrive at the Stables in Cromarty on Saturday July 31st starting at 7.30.

Tickets, priced £10, £8 and £3 (children) for the event in Cromarty can be reserved from the Cromarty Arts Trust at info@cromartyartstrust.org.uk or telephone 01381 600354
