MFR Awards

We were so excited to hear about Wanda's award from Moray Firth radio, we asked her to say a bit about it: "I would like to say I was amazed when Duncan Chisholm of MFR phoned me to tell me that I was nominated for an award for Contribution to the Community - he invited me to attend the awards cermony on 22nd April at the Macdonald Highland Resort.

It was a black tie and dress up do which over 400 people attended - this was great as many funders that had given me funding in the past were there to see me get my award.

There was a star studded line up that included The Macdonald Brothers,Same Difference,Booty Luv and the Australian no 1 Gabriella Chillmi.

After arriving at the resort with my mum at 12 noon,we were guided in to the main hall where a champagne reception was held - well you know me and my love for champagne!! We took our seats for the entertainment and a delicious five course lunch.

The main proceedings were hosted and Nicky Marr and Gino my favourite breakfast time listening - then Knoxy arrived on a powerful motorbike weaving in between the tables and Danny was screaming behind on a little 50cc.

Then to the awards - well we had the list and the 1 I was in for appeared 7th, but lo and behold it came up first. I was totally stunned when my name was read out as the winner - all of the audience started clapping and all the lights beamed on me it was just amazing.

I then received my award by Deveron homes - (I'll get the chaps name which sponsored my category. Ed: Still waiting, Wanda!) After this I was taken off stage and did a live interview with Gino which was great as lots of people in Cromarty heard me as being the first to receive my award then my phone rang off for ages.

All in all a absolutely fantastic day put on by MFR.
