04 July 2012Jets heard over Cromarty before crash
Two loud, low-flying fighter planes were heard over Cromarty in the early afternoon yesterday, shortly before it was reported that two Tornado GR4 jets on a training flight from RAF Lossiemouth had crashed into the Moray Firth. The Invergordon lifeboat was one of the vessels sent to search for the four crewmen involved. Two were airlifted to Raigmore Hospital; the other two are still missing.
