01 September 2018Cromarty Peace Group in 'pop up demo'

The Cromarty Peace Group and HANT (Highlands Against Nuclear Transport) participated in a 'Pop Up Demo / Flash Mob' at Inverness Station today to highlight the risks involved in the nuclear trains from Dounreay to Sellafield which pass through Inverness Station on a regular basis.

This demo follows an incident on 12 July 2018 which involved a train carrying nuclear waste running past a red signal near Kingussie at the same time that the Caledonian Sleeper was heading north.

Simon Evans of the Cromarty Peace Group commented, “We were very pleased to be involved in this joint event with HANT as we are aware of the concern about these transports and believe this demo will bring this issue to the attention of people who may have no idea that these transports are happening.“
