A new look at old methods

Building conservation specialists from Laing Traditional Masonry Ltd are introducng contractors and other building professionals to the use of lime mortars in two one-day courses based at the Cromarty Training Centre. Participants will learn about the methods being used in the restoration of the East Church through a mixture of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on sessions.

The course is being offered at a reduced price as a result of support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, which — along with Historic Scotland and the Highland Council — has supplied the major funding for the two-year church restoration project.
