The front page of today's Ross-shire Journal gives the latest news on — and a photograph of — the new Cromarty-Nigg ferry. According to reporter Lynne Bradshaw and Tom Henderson (managing director of the Cromarty Ferry Company) "the ferry was lifted into the water three weeks ago and was registered under its name, Cromarty Queen, in Inverness." The article further states, "Its journey home is weather-dependent but [Tom Henderson] anticipates it will take five days for him and his crew to travel up the east coast to Cromarty. It will then go into operation after a couple of days of preparation and crew training." He added, "We hope to be running the ferry for the rest of September and we are in talks with Highland Council to get permission to extend the run into October."
