A busy autumn weekend in Cromarty

Three separate strands of activity have been taking place in Cromarty this weekend (see Calendar for details). The Black Isle Words and Harp Village festivals (from Friday to Sunday) with talks, workshops, concerts and a silent film projected on the Cromarty Lighthouse with a live musical accompaniment. On Saturday, three homes and one garden in Cromarty opened their doors and gates as part of Transition Black Isle's 'Greening Homes and Gardens' event. Visitors could visit 18 homes and gardens across the Black Isle to learn about ways to make their homes more energy efficient and grow their own fruit and veg.

Here in the Old Orchard, Ken Dupar gives some 'hands on' advice about thinning apples for a more productive crop.
