CAT announces new Writer-in-Residence

Award-winning director and dramatist Iain Finlay MacLeod from Ness in Lewis is the new Writer-in- Residence at the Cromarty Arts Trust for the month of February.

As well as fiction, he writes for theatre, film and radio. He also works as a script doctor and advisor on projects. He regularly runs workshops on different aspects of the writing process, as well as a number of public appearances every year.

Iain Finlay has a great deal of experience in the world of film & television. He has won a number of awards for his work as a director and writer. More recently, he was one of the writers on the Gaelic Feature Film “Seachd - The Innaccessible Pinnacle”. This film was nominated for two Baftas, Best Screenplay and Best Film.

Iain Finlay will be joining local writers in Cromarty for a series of Fireside Evenings where he will share his thoughts and ideas about being a writer in the 21st Century. Caroline Hewat, Arts Development Manager said, ‘We really hope Iain Finlay will enjoy his short stay in Cromarty and we hope he will be inspired by the people and the place to create some original new work.’
