On Saturday, an estimated 250 people visited Cromarty's first community market to see local produce and arts and crafts on offer from 20 stallholders. Lunch and homebaking were provided by the Cromarty School Parent Council.
Stallholders were pleased with sales and all are keen to return. The Cromarty market is one of three organised by Transition Black Isle and will be held on the second Saturday of each month from 11.30am–2.30pm . Other monthly markets are held in North Kessock and Culbokie.
The next Cromarty market on 11 June promises to be bigger and busier with new-season fruit, vegetables and plants on sale. Prospective stallholders should contact the organiser John Wood for further details (telephone 01381 600491).
