The Cromarty History Society is one of many groups and classes starting up again this month after the summer break. The History Society meets monthly from September to April on the third Thursday of the month in the West Church hall at 7.30pm.
The coming session features several speakers well-known to local audiences — including Society members David Alston, Lindsay Hemy, Paul Monk and Sandy Thomson as well as Black Islers Graham Clark and Jim Mackay. They are particularly pleased that this year to have secured a guest speaker from the National Museum of Scotland, Dr Martin Goldberg, who will talk at an additional meeting on 29th September. Please note that this meeting is free to all, whether members or non-members.
The speaker at the first meeting on 15 September is Sandy Thomson on 'David Urquhart of Braelangwell'.
Full details of the 2011-2012 programme can be found on the History Society website.
