A record number of 130 'Splashers' plunged into the chilly Cromarty Firth at noon today for the third annual 'Splash and Dash'. During the warm-up to the splash, Jenny Henderson of the Royal Hotel awarded the prize for the best fancy dress to 'The Three Nowise Women' (Crystal Maclean, Laura Shepherd and Paige Shepherd). The 400+ spectators were kept moving with an aerobic warm-up led by Steve Agyei and a salsa session with Jermaine and Campbell McCracken.

The 83 'Dashers' ranged in age from 5 to 74 years. The 'Mad Dash' up the Sutor and back was won by James Bostock from East Leicester in a record time of 24 minutes 57 seconds and the 'Mini Dash' around the Reeds Path by Heather Johnston from Killin in 14 minutes 53 seconds.
