Another view of Cromarty

The 'Cromarty Series' of poems and paintings by Iain Finlay Macleod (Gaelic writer-in-residence at The Stables in Spring 2011) and artist James Adams is now showing in the Union Gallery in Edinburgh until 27 February. Rob Dawkins of the Union Gallery says, "We would welcome any visitors who happen to be in Edinburgh to view these wonderful, evocative works of art."

In The Journal, reviewer Delphine Tomes comments on the exhibition: "In the bold, naïve paintings of James Newton Adams, a direct dialogue has been established with poems of the same title. Written by Finlay MacLeod and originally in Gaelic, the poetry narrates tales of quotidian life in the seaside burgh of Cromarty."
