Wanted: Volunteer to investigate sea defence funding

At the last Community Council meeting, it was agreed to approach the community and ask for a volunteer to assist the Council in undertaking a small project to look into bidding into the Coastal Communities Fund for monies to improve the sea defences from Clunes House to the Sutor steps. It would involve liaison with the potential funding body and the Core Path Network officer at Highland Council and obtaining an estimate for work to see what the feasibility would be of improving and protecting the coastline and path facility.

The council is looking for someone who is prepared to give up a small amount of time to work, voluntarily, in this capacity. He or she should have a general interest in conservation matters, communicate with local interested parties, be able to identify opportunties for funding and prepare a submission for the Coastal Communities Fund if the project proves feasible and viable.
