Application for Davidson wind turbines refused

Highland councillors at yesterday's north planning meeting turned down the proposal by Bright Spark Energy to build three 242-foot wind turbines on farm land at Davidson, near Cromarty.

Although the development was recommended for approval, the motion by Black Isle committee chairwoman Isobal McCallum to "refuse the application on the basis of detrimental visual impact" was passed by seven votes to five.
