Cromarty Homes and Heritage Project comes to a close

The Cromarty Homes and Heritage Project has come to an end with an exhibition in the Victoria Hall.

Six months of gathering information on different aspects of Cromarty's past history — Homes, Social Places, Working Life, Harbour and Fishing, Cromarty at War, Church Life, Cromarty School and Learning — are represented in the display of photographs, news cuttings and memory notes. The community-wide oral history project brought together native 'Croms' and new residents, school children and pensioners under the direction of project facilitators Mary Peteranna and Lynn Fraser.

In addition to the seven "Memories' sessions, the project included a tour of the wartime buildings on the South Sutor, a guided tour of the Courthouse Museum's collections and a look at Cromarty 'from above'.

Further information (including Sandy's blogs) are on the project website and Facebook page.
