Gala flourishes despite the weather

The forecast of rain and strong winds led to a last-minute decision by the Gala committee to pull down the marquees in the Victoria Park and re-site stalls inside the Victoria Hall. Outside activities took place outdoors depite the gusty wind and occasional, short shower. Bubble balls, fancy dress parade, bumpy bicycle tracks, children's races and the anticipated second running of Cromarty's own 'Grand National' were enjoyed by a large crowd of participants and onlookers. Paige Shepherd was a popular choice as Gala Queen.
