Proposed oil transfer raises objections

The Cromarty Firth Port Authority has lodged an application for a licence for ship-to-ship oil transfers in the mouth of the Cromarty Firth — right on top of the area with the highest density of Bottlenose Dolphins in the north. Up to 1m tonnes of crude oil would be transferred, more than 10x that currently transferred at the Nigg jetty.

This represents a risk to the dolphins and to the huge diversity of birds, animals and sea-life that populate this area, as well as to the people who live and work here. If you object to this proposal, register your views with the MCA (see opposite) or sign this petition.
