Nigg to play major role in Beatrice windfarm

It was announced today that the Global Energy Group will play a major role in the contruction of SSE's £2.6billion Beatrice windfarm. The Nigg Energy Park will undertake to fabricate the steel pylons that secure the structures to the sea floor, serve as an assembly centre and load-out point for the 84 seven-megawatt turbines. Two five-megawatt demonstrator turbines for the Beatrice field were assembled at Nigg in 2007.
