High level of activity at Nigg

The world's largest jack-up rig Noble Lloyd Noble arrived on Saturday and dominates the firth-side scene at Global Energy's Nigg base. The 705ft self-elevating unit arrived from Singapore aboard the carrier ship Hawk and towers over the jack-up rig to the right and the underwater turbine and associated equipment for the MeyGen tidal energy development (centre). The Hawk will soon depart for the Western Isles to collect the ill-fated Transocean rig off Stornaway for the onward journey to Turkey. After final preparations at Nigg the Noble Lloyd Noble will leave for the North Sea.
