Cromarty history hidden again

After four summers of excavations, the dig site of the Cromarty Medieval Burgh Community Archaeology Project was once again covered by earth earlier this week.

A medieval well (centre of photo), discovered as digging came to an end last summer, will be enclosed with a post and wire fence and retained as a feature of the Reeds Path shoreline walk.

Details of the background to the project, excavations and discoveries can be found on the Project website.
