Youth Cafe
The Youth Cafe opened in October 2005, following the recent work done on the community's Victoria Hall. A donation of £5,000 from the Prince's Trust was used to create the youth space.
There's a TV, DVD player, stereo, beanbags and a sofa, and a Playstation.
2008 news
Well, we are still running great guns, with numbers up to 20 appearing on any given night.
Wanda secured £25k funding, and is once again putting together another fantastic programme for the year. Everyone at the Youth Cafe is really looking forward to taking part in so many fun activities - and, of course, getting fit and healthy, too!
Wanda has again proved how widely recognised her talents are, winning not only Youth Worker of The Year (Youth Highland), but also Contribution to the Community (MFR Awards). Wanda was recognised for her contribution to:
- the First Responders (for which she is the local co-ordinator)
- helping with our sadly missed Football Club
- work with the Fourways club
- her tireless but successful fundraising
- her work in the Academy
- last but not least the Senior and Junior Youth Cafe in Cromarty
Wanda's not alone in this, with Fraser Thomson, Paige Shepherd, Eva Coutts, and Catriona Mallows all representin Cromarty Youth Cafe on the Ross-shire Forum; feeding into the Highland Youth Voice and Parliament. Aren't they doing well!
